Elaine Maurer, President of DecisionPoint Research, is experienced in marketing planning and research, both in-house and as an independent consultant. Elaine's unique combination of marketing planning and research with field sales experience ensures clients that recommendations reflect customer needs, marketplace realities, and the practicality of implementation in the field organization. Elaine brings to her work insights and expertise gained from experience that ranges from high technology startups and health care companies to multi-division industrial corporations.

 

Early in her business career Elaine established the first corporate sales initiative for WordStar when the market for PC application software was taking off. Subsequently Elaine was Manager of Market Research and Planning for McKesson Corporation where she had chief responsibility for the implementation and ongoing monitoring of customer satisfaction, as well as the development of marketing plans for new technologies in health care delivery and retail management. Later Elaine was Vice President of Business Development for IntroSoft Corporation, a company that provided market entry services for U.S. software companies in Brazil, Chile and Argentina.

 

As an independent consultant Elaine has successfully conducted market research studies for clients in numerous high technology, health care and industrial businesses. These include:

      Market Intelligence Studies on Internet Voting in the Public and Private Sectors conducted for an Internet voting startup.

      Market Entry Study on the U.S. Medical Office Software Market conducted for a Brazilian software development company

      New Business Development Study on Pharmaceutical Manufacturers' Direct to Consumer (DTC) Promotional Programs conducted for a pharmacy benefits management company.

      Customer Experience Study for a specialty pharmacy company.

 

Elaine is fluent in Spanish and was involved in the start of "Rotaplast," a San Francisco Rotary Club International service project bringing donated medical supplies and a team of plastic surgeons to perform pediatric reconstructive surgery on indigent children born with cleft lip and palate in Latin America, Asia, and Africa.  The project has brought a second chance for a normal life to over 17,000 children and young adults.

 

Elaine holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, a Master's degree from the University of Wisconsin and a Master's in Business Administration from Golden Gate University. She is also a graduate of The Burke Institute of Marketing Research.
